Halong Bay
TravelogueHalong Bay
Travelogue
After a 3-hour drive through what looked a lot like the Philippines (that wasn't sarcasm), we finally got to Halong Bay. The last part of a week-long adventure.
We were tired, hungry, and cold (Yes, it gets chilly in Northern Vietnam). We made it to Paradise, which was the name of our junk boat.
Our boat mates were an old group of German tourists, a giant Chinese family (there were about 14 of them), and a young Australian couple who didn't mingle much, which I'm pretty sure meant they were up to no good. They weren't.
Halong Bay was quite beautiful, even with the barrage of other boats, and horrible tourists. In the morning, we ate breakfast with our dodgy shipmates, made some goofy Titanic jokes, then headed back to the dock and ultimately, reality.
